Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush will take the stage at the 2011 CMT Music Awards tonight (June 8) for a special cause. During his performance of “Stand Up”, the duo will meet the family of Gilbert of Joplin, Missouri, who lost his home to a tornado May 22.

Husband and wife, Eric and Amy Gilbert has been living with friends and working to rebuild their lives from the devastation. As a result, have not been able to spend more than a few hours at a time with her two daughters, who stay with family a few hours away.

Once the family situation came to the attention of Sugarland and the network, plans for the role of Gilbert is leaving soon. All parties expect the center will raise awareness and funds for the hundreds of thousands of families affected by recent storms, floods and tornadoes in the South and Midwest.

In addition, the ‘Stuck Like Glue “singer recently released a live version of” Stand Up “with Little Big Town tourmates to iTunes. Proceeds from the download will benefit the American Red Cross for the relief of tornadoes in Alabama and Missouri.

Fans can donate to the American Red Cross relief efforts here, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or text messages “Redcross” to 90999 to donate $ 10.

Tonight 2011 CMT Music Awards air live (08 June) at 8:00 PM ET / PT on the network and CMT.com.
